In case you haven’t figured it out or don’t know me, “Floyd” is not my real name. I use it because I like to maintain at least a bit of anonymity on the internets. If you’re really curious, it shouldn’t be too difficult to figure out who I really am.
But why is “Floyd” my preferred pseudonym? Many years ago, friends and I used to go bowling on a semi-regular basis. As everybody knows, you have to use a “bowling name” for the scoring computer. I originally bowled as “Floyd Kynd,” rolling alongside such legends as “Cornelius Potts,” “Ulysses von Petr,” “Barry Great” and “Masuhiro Chono.” After some time and many victories later, I felt I needed a stronger, more masculine surname. Thus “Floyd Masterson” was born, and has served as my alter ego ever since.
